Facts and figures for you to peruse before Saturday's Serie A clash

1. INTER'S VERONA RECORDS

Inter have racked up more wins against Verona in Serie A than any other team have managed: 36 wins in 61 previous encounters (D21, L4).

The Nerazzurri haven't lost to Hellas since 1992, when Ezio Rossi struck the only goal for the hosts in a 1-0 win at the Bentegodi.

Verona are the team that Inter have played the most times in Serie A without losing (21, with 17 wins and four draws) in the three points for a win era.

2. ALMOST A TON UP...

Inter's next goal against Verona will be their 100th against them in Serie A. The Nerazzurri have averaged 2.3 goals per game against the men from Verona since the turn of the millennium.

3. SATURDAY NIGHT AT SAN SIRO

Verona have never beaten Inter in Serie A away from home in 30 attempts (D11, L19) and failed to score in 22 of those. There have been six previous league meetings between these two sides on a Saturday – the most recent of which saw Inter come from behind to win thanks to goals by Matias Vecino and Nicolo Barella in 2019.

4. OPPOSITE ENDS OF COMEBACKS

Saturday's will see the team that has recovered the most points from losing positions this season (Inter, 19) take on the side that has lost the most points from winning positions (Verona, 22)

5. GOALS GALORE

Inter have the league's best attack (63 scored) despite playing a game less than most teams, while Verona have the third-best attack (56), after Lazio (60).

Since Igor Tudor took the reins on 14 September 2021, Verona have been the league's second-most prolific side (53 goals, just one less than Inter in the same period).

Verona and Inter – together with Atalanta and Lazio – jointly share the record for the most goals scored in the last 30 minutes of matches this term (22).

Only Lazio (17%) have a better shots-to-goals ratio than Verona (15%) and Inter (12%) in the current Serie A campaign.

6. HAKAN ON FIRE

Hakan Calhanoglu – who has netted in two of the three league fixtures he has played in at the Meazza against Verona – has been involved in 15 goals (seven scored, eight assisted) this season. Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (18) is the only midfielder to have played a part in more.

7. FIRST GOALS FOR NICOLO AND JOAQUIN

Nicolo Barella and Joaquin Correa both opened their Serie A accounts for Inter against Hellas.  Barella notched his first goal in Inter 2-1 Verona in November 2019, while Correa struck a match-winning brace after coming off the bench in his Nerazzurri debut earlier this season.

8. EDIN ON 97

Edin Dzeko made his Serie A bow against Verona back on 22 August 2015, while playing for Roma.

The Bosnian hitman has actively contributed to four goals in his last four league appearances (two goals and two assists), taking his personal Serie A tally to 97.

He is the foreign player who has scored the most goals in the Italian top flight without netting a hat-trick. Adding Italians to the equation, only Nicola Amoruso (113), Riccardo Carapellese (111) and Gino Cappello (104) are ahead of him.

9. DIMARCO AND FARAONI FACING FORMER SIDES

Federico Dimarco spent 18 months at Verona between January 2020 and June 2021, weighing in with five goals and six assists in 48 Serie A appearances.

Hellas full-back Marco Davide Faraoni made his league debut with Inter and turned out for the Nerazzurri 14 times in Serie A (scoring once) in the 2011/12 season.

Daniel Bessa is another former Inter academy player but never made his senior debut for the club.

10. INZAGHI VS TUDOR

Simone Inzaghi and Igor Tudor have only faced off in opposite dugouts once before in Serie A:  Lazio 2-0 Udinese on 17 April 2019.

DISCIPLINARY SITUATION  Suspended: Lautaro (I). One booking away from suspension: Bastoni, Perisic, Vidal (I); Depaoli, Faraoni, Miguel Veloso (V).
