InterNationals: Nerazzurri called up
Team
— Mar 21st 2022Inter players involved in World Cup qualifiers and friendlies
MILAN - We’ve already seen the last league game this month as the international break brings a pause to proceedings. The upcoming fixtures will see the last teams qualify for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. For the Nerazzurri not involved in qualifiers, there are plenty of friendlies going ahead during this period.
There are important fixtures coming up, particularly for some Inter players. Nicolo Barella and Alessandro Bastoni will be working to secure qualification for Italy in their World Cup play-offs. Roberto Mancini’s side face North Macedonia on Thursday in the semi-final play-off, while another Path C match takes place between Turkey and Portugal, with Hakan Calhanoglu called up for that one. The final, which could see Italy and/or Turkey involved, will take place on Tuesday 29 March.
In South America, both Brazil and Argentina have already secured their World Cup spot, but there are three Inter players who have been called up to play for the Albiceleste. Joaquin Correa is joined by brothers Franco and Valentin Carboni, who play for Inter’s youth squad.
Chileans Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal will face Matias Vecino’sUruguay side in what could be a crucial match to determine the group ranking and which teams go through to the World Cup.
As for friendlies, Denzel Dumfries, Edin Dzeko, Milan Skriniar and Ivan Perisic are all joining their national side.
