MILAN – Danilo D’Ambrosio achieved an important appearance milestone for his club at Anfield against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool: the defender played his 250th game for Inter. While the 1-0 win over the Reds wasn't enough for the Nerazzurri to reach the quarter-finals, Inter's number 33 came on in the second half to replace Stefan de Vrij and reach 250 games for the club. He gave a typical performance in which he showed astuteness, teamwork, and discipline in a game which Inter will take great heart from.
D'Ambrosio, born on 9 September 1988, began his footballing career in the youth teams of Salernitana and Fiorentina. He then moved on to play for Potenza and Juve Stabia before making the step up to Torino. It was there his career kicked on; between 2010 and 2014 he featured in 122 games, scoring ten goals, spread across two and a half seasons in Serie B and one and a half in Serie A.
He made his move to Inter in January 2014, and since that date he has played 203 times in Serie A for the club, netting on 17 occasions. He has now racked up a total of 250 appearances for the Nerazzurri, scoring 21 times and providing 17 assists.
