MILAN - Nicolo Barella was instrumental in Inter’s 5-0 victory against Salernitana, bossing the midfield and laying on two assists to take his tally to nine for the season in Serie A - the second highest in the league.
"I’m happy if I put in a good performance and even more so if I can help the team to score through goals or assists," the Italian midfielder told Inter TV after the final whistle.
"This win today shows we're a team and we support each other in difficult times during the season.
"I’m happy for Lautaro [Martinez] because there are times when nothing goes right in football. It happens to everyone, including me. It's not always a fitness issue; sometimes things just don't come off for you. but it's never knocked our confidence. I feel it, everyone feels it. We all believe in one another. And this victory, these goals are important in stoking this belief.”
