Skriniar makes 200th Inter apperance
Team
— Mar 2nd 2022By featuring in the Milan derby in the Coppa Italia the Slovak reached this prestigious milestone as an Inter player
A double century! Milan Skriniar has now made 200 appearances for Inter after featuring for his side in their derby match against Milan. Only five players in the current squad have played more times for the Nerazzurri than the Slovak: Samir Handanovic (425), Marcelo Brozovic (277), Danilo D’Ambrosio (249), Ivan Perisic (240), and Andrea Ranocchia (223).
The Slovak defender, born in Ziar nad Hronom on 11 February 1995, reached the 200 appearance mark in what was the 33rd time he turned out for the Nerazzurri in 2021/22. He's put in quite the shift this campaign, being a regular in the back four, and finding the net four times, a tally which equals his best-ever scoring record for Inter back in the 2017/18 season. Most importantly of all, his performances have been fantastic.
Inter's current number 37 joined the club in 2017 after having already tested the waters in Serie A with Sampdoria where he played over the 2016/17 season. The Slovak became a first team regular from the get-go at San Siro, appearing in every Serie A game in 2017/18. What's more, he scored four times during that campaign. Over the following two seasons Skriniar featured 88 times for the club in competitive matches, albeit while not scoring. However in the following campaign his three strikes contributed to Inter winning their 19th Scudetto, including a crucial goal against Atalanta
So far in 2021/22 Skriniar has found the net four times (including his first-ever Champions League goal, against Sheriff). He's also added to his Nerazzurri medal collection after having helped his team to victory over Juventus in the Italian Super Cup back in January.
