MILAN – After the opening of Inter Academy Dubai, the club has continued to develop the Nerazzurri project in the local region, with the legendary Marco Materazzi and an Inter delegation inaugurating the brand new Inter Academy in the Emirate of Sharjah today.
The new football programme is the result of the partnership with REPs, an established business in the UAE which takes care of developing wellbeing and healthcare practices locally. The new Inter Academy project entails the rolling out of new football academies in the Emirates, starting with the city of Khor Fakkan, offering young footballers the chance to receive technical and educational training in line with Inter’s standards and values, working hand-in-hand with the partner on the technical supervision of sports programmes in the area which are already monitored by REPs.
The birth of the new Inter Academy in the United Arab Emirates was made official in the presence of an Inter delegation led by club legend Materazzi in Sharjah, where the group was welcomed by his Excellence Eisa Hilal AL Hazami, the Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council.
“The birth of Inter Academy Sharjah in Khor Fakkan, the second in the United Arab Emirates in under six months, is testament to the level of expansion of the Inter brand in a part of the world that we consider key for our club’s ongoing internationalisation process,” stated Luca Danovaro, FC Internazionale Milano’s Chief Revenue Officer. “The birth of this new Inter Academy is proof of how the value and power of our project are recognised abroad and how our brand is increasingly attractive on a global scale.”
“We’re excited to work alongside Inter, one of the biggest football clubs in the world with a longstanding tradition of experience in providing technical training for and educating young footballers,” said Naser Mohamed Ali Mohamed Altamini, CEO of REPs. “We’re convinced that this is a huge opportunity for children in our local area.”
