Inter's Slovak defender gave his thoughts after his side's defeat to Liverpool

MILAN - A sound performance by Milan Skriniar; winning 50-50s, cutting out passes, and helping out teammates. The Slovak was one of the best performers in Wednesday night's game yet Inter were undone by Liverpool from two set plays. Skriniar gave his thoughts to Sky and Inter TV after the match:

"We played great against one of the best teams in the world. It's a shame because we showed that Inter are capable of matching any side. It's a real shame to have lost through conceding on dead balls.

"In the Champions League small details decide games. We made mistakes from two set pieces and they scored while we didn't make the most of ours. It's a shame; we expended so much energy and to a certain extent we dominated the game yet we didn't find the net.

"Going to Anfield is going to be really tough but we've got to give our all to try and make a comeback. We did what we set out to do but if you don't score you get punished, just as we did against Real Madrid."
