The highlights of the eventful game at the San Siro as goals from Sanchez, Ranocchia and Sensi send Inter into the quarter-finals.

Inter beat Empoli 3-2 after extra time in the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia and get through to the quarter-finals, where they will face the winner of Roma V Lecce. Simone Inzaghi's side took the lead in the 13th minute when Denzel Dumfries' looping cross from the right wing was headed in by Alexis Sanchez, who had recently replaced the injured Joaquin Correa. Empoli's hero was their goalkeeper, Jacopo Furlan, who made a number of important saves throughout the game. The visitors equalised in the second half through Nedim Bajrami, who thumped the ball past Ionuț Radu with a fine left-footed strike. With 15 minutes remaining, Patrick Cutrone's headed the ball onto the crossbar that then went onto Radu’s heel, sending it into the goal and Empoli took the lead. Inter rushed forward and made it 2-2 in the 91st minute thanks to a stunning half-volley from Andrea Ranocchia.

The Nerazzurri captain's goal sent the match into extra time: it was Stefano Sensi, who took over from Lautaro Martinez and found the winning goal with a great right-footed shot from the edge of the box, following an assist from Sanchez.
