MILAN – Hakan Calhanoglu has nerves of steel. The Turk scored from the penalty spot in the Milan derby and repeated the feat against Napoli this evening, sending David Ospina the wrong way as he fired home at San Siro. He then turned provider by swinging in the corner that Ivan Perisic headed home on the stroke of half time.
The midfield maestro spoke to Inter TV after the 3-2 success: “I’m pleased because we knew it would be a tough game. They pressed very high early on but we did well in every area. We also played better than our opponents in the games that we didn’t win, so we’re thrilled today. I don’t mind if I score or get assists, what matters is that we never give up. Even in the final minutes when we were under pressure, we still fought as a team.
“I’m pleased about scoring the penalty. I know how to take them and am confident. As the coach said, what matters is that whoever takes it feels good.
“We now turn our attention to Shakhtar which is another very important match.”
