The Champions of Italy will play their final match of the 2020/21 season tomorrow, after which they'll lift the league trophy on the pitch. Quotes from the Coach on the eve of the showdown

APPIANO GENTILE – Not long now until the Nerazzurri’s final Serie A game of the 2020/21 season. Inter host Udinese tomorrow for matchday 38 and will, after full-time, lift the trophy on the pitch at the Meazza. On the eve of the game, Coach Antonio Conte poke to Inter TV.

After winning the Scudetto and having had an incredible season, there’s just one last push needed to end the season in style.

"We just have to play Udinese, who are a really good team, and we’ll need to find it in ourselves to give our all and finish the season on a high. We're lifting the trophy tomorrow and want to do so on the back of a good performance."

There will be one thousand people at the stadium tomorrow to see the trophy being lifted; this is a good sign after a difficult time for Italy and for the world. How much have you missed the fans, who, in spite of the distance, have always supported the team?

"It’s a sign that we’re opening back up, as we’ve already seen for the Coppa Italia and will see for the Euros. It’ll be brilliant tomorrow, let’s not forget that we all work with the aim of making our fans proud. Fans are so important for football and we hope to have them back at our side soon."

Udinese are safe from relegation and will want to make a good impression tomorrow. What kind of game are you expecting?

"Udinese are a very good and physical side. They’re strong in defence, don’t afford much space and counter well. We’re expecting a challenging game, also because they won’t just be coming to San Siro to make up the numbers but to face the new Champions of Italy and try to do their best.”

Since the reverse fixture, Inter have won 15 times, drawn twice and lost on just one occasion. These are important numbers that have made the difference in the Scudetto race.

"When you win the Scudetto, it’s because you’ve done something special and extraordinary, something more than the others. I think the numbers are important because they show what kind of season we’ve had. Above all, credit must go to the players.”

How satisfied are you with the progress of your players over the past two years?

“Certainly, all the players have made a lot of progress, not only on a technical/tactical level but also in terms of their mentality. By working hard, they’ve improved a lot. Now, they’re players who have won and, as a result, know what they need to do to carry on winning.”
