MILAN – In the spring of 2020, UEFA launched the first Europe-wide project aimed at girls between the ages of five and eight in collaboration with Disney: ‘UEFA Playmakers Programme’. Thanks to the FIGC and their Youth and School Sector, the programme has reached Italy this year.
This programme is all about getting closer to the world of football through storytelling, imagination and a training session based on Disney stories and its most famous characters from films such as The Incredibles 2 and Frozen 2.
Inter, who have always put a great amount of focus on the education of children and young people from both a sporting and all-round perspective, have now become part of the project. It was conceived with the aim of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle through fun and exciting activities for girls, in turn bringing them closer to the game of football.

These will be based loosely around hit Disney films, including a programme of stories, games and fun, with all involved required to show their teamwork and imagination.

The ‘Playmakers’ methodology has been conceived following extensive research as well as analysis of past experiences in order to offer girls the best conditions for both learning and having fun. It seeks to improve female grassroots football, curated specifically with the needs of young athletes in mind in order to boost their self-confidence and creativity.
