Stats and interesting facts from Saturday's clash against Bologna

MILAN – After a tricky start to September, Inter are back to winning ways after seeing off Bologna with an outstanding team performance. The match featured six goals, five different goalscorers, and numerous great individual displays, but most importantly saw the Nerazzurri claim three valuable points to bring their running total to 10, four matchdays into the campaign.

HITTING THEIR STRIDE

Lautaro Martinez has now scored in four consecutive appearances for the first time in his Serie A career. This run began on the final matchday of last season against Udinese and carried on into this campaign with strikes against Hellas Verona, Sampdoria and Bologna. The team as a whole have also shown consistency, finding the net in each of the last 23 Serie A games, a feat only bettered back in 1950 when the Nerazzurri went on a scoring run of 25 games. San Siro has truly become a place to be feared for visiting teams, with Inter scoring at least three goals in their last five Serie A home games, as good of a home scoring run they’ve been on since 2011 when they managed a six-game run.

DZEKO NETS A BRACE

Despite not starting the game Edin Dzeko was one of the stars of the show after coming on for Joaquin Correa, claiming his first brace for the Nerazzurri and his 17th in Serie A. The Bosnian had gone nearly a year since the last time he struck twice in a Serie A match, back in October 2020 against Benevento.

15 GOALS SCORED IN FOUR MATCHES, 9 DIFFERENT SCORERS

After putting six past Bologna, Inter’s ‘Goals For’ column stands at 15 four matches into the campaign. These have been shared between the following nine players: Edin Dzeko (3) Lautaro Martinez (3), Milan Skriniar (2), Joaquin Correa (2), Arturo Vidal (1), Hakan Calhanoglu (1), Federico Dimarco (1), Marias Vecino (1), and Nicolo Barella (1).

BARELLA ON FIRE, ANOTHER HEADED GOAL FOR SKRINIAR

NicoloBarella has been involved in a goal in each of his last four Serie A appearances, his best-ever run in the top flight. Milan Skriniar claimed his second goal of the season against Bologna, and notably six of the Slovakian defender's last seven goals in Serie A have been headers.
