MILAN - Lautaro Martinez understandably cut a forlorn figure after the game against Real Madrid, which Inter long looked like winning - only to be dealt a cruel blow by Rodrygo's late goal.
While disappointed, the Argentine was nonetheless able to see some of the positives to take from the match as he spoke to Inter TV after the final whistle.
“We know what this competition is about and who we were up against today. And we know that if you don't score against a team like Real, they'll end up making you pay .
“We have to improve the things we didn't do so well but there were lots of good things too – especially in the first half. We have to build on that first-half display and keep working hard on the training ground to become better.
“Now we have to focus on getting three points against Bologna. They're another tricky side who make a real physical battle of it. We have to rest up and get ready for that now.”
Finally, Martinez commented on the help provided by the Nerazzurri faithful.
“I want to thank the fans because they're always right there behind us. I hope we can repay them soon with a really good win."
