Here's what the Inter coach had to say following victory in Verona

VERONA - A comeback victory, the first win away from home, the return of El Toro and a dream debut for Joaquin Correa. After success against Genoa, Inter made it two from two by overturning Hellas Verona's first-half advantage with a goal from Lautaro Martinez and two from the extraordinary Correa.

"I'm happy for El Tucu because he's a player who hasn't even shown his best yet," said Simone Inzaghi, speaking to DAZN at the end of the match.

"He has everything; technique, speed, power. He should enjoy this double on his debut because he's an important player that can do a lot for us. The club has been great because in just a few days they gave me a very strong squad. What reassures me most is seeing the boys working hard every day. I've understood why this squad achieved great results last year".

Speaking of Friday night's match at the Bentegodi, he said :

"We were excellent in the first 15 minutes but then Verona's goal took the wind out of our sails. We made a few mistakes and were a bit static. We have to give credit to Verona too though as they played at an incredible tempo in the first half.

“At half time I told the lads they wouldn't be able to maintain that tempo and we did well to keep calm and bide our time. We got the equaliser then scored two fantastic goals to earn the points.”

Arturo Vidal proved pivotal once again after coming on in the second half.

“That's exactly what you want as a coach – to be able to count on players like that from the bench. Arturo did brilliantly today, just as he did when he came on against Genoa.

“All the subs did really well. If everyone understands that the substitutes are in some ways more important than the others, we're halfway there already.

“We're a versatile team – [Nicolo] Barella slotting into the holding role is another example of that.”

Inzaghi also commented on the budding partnership between Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez.

“They did well today. It wasn't an easy game because [Giangiacomo] Magnani and [Koray] Gunter make life very tough for opposition strikers.

“I didn't think Lautaro could play at that tempo for so long. He came back from Argentina and trained with us four times then spent 12 days on the sidelines with a niggle. He'd only been back with the team for three and a half days before this game but he was decisive tonight.

“So too was Edin – he always offers a great focal point. And let's not forget we have [Alexis] Sanchez too. He's working his way back and is just as good as the other three. He'll be important for us.”
