Inter Campus Hungary has signed up to the Fairplay project, which already counts Feyenoord, Werder Bremen, Hibernian FC, Charlton Athletic and Inter Campus Angola among its members.
Developed by the University of Rotterdam’s Psychology Department, the project aims to develop a new educational model based around life skills and the concept of resilience, which are incorporated into social and sporting activities.
Ongoing impact assessments throughout the project will enable the department to monitor and assess the progress of the children participating in the research initiative.
The Inter Campus Hungary summer camp is currently underway in Hungary, bringing the kids involved in the project together for a week of sport and socialising under the watchful eyes of our local partner Love is the Answer. The camp will be used to complete the first Fairplay research assessment.
Launched in 2010, Inter Campus Hungary runs across three sites (Budapest, Szendrolad and most recently Debrecen) and sees participation from 100 young people. The main focus of the project is to promote integration between Roma and Hungarian children and support orphaned or abandoned children living at the Ceppsko orphanage in Hungary.
