APPIANO GENTILE – Alex Cordaz has spoken of his joy of “coming home” to Inter and revealed his hopes and expectations for the coming season in an exclusive interview with Inter TV.
The 38-year-old keeper, who is back in a Nerazzurri jersey 17 years after making his senior debut for the club, was sharing his thoughts after the first few days of pre-season training.
“It's great to be back after all these years – although my heart never left the place because I'm an Interista,” he began. “I'm honoured to have this chance to come back home.
“We're training really well and with the right intensity to build up for the new season. The match against Lugano will be useful to help us prepare for the start of the season.
“My personal objective is to help Inter win. I'll try to do everything I can to help the team, the coach and the club so that we can achieve our goals.”
Alex also commented on Italy's European Championship success.
“We're all so proud that Italy won the Euros and we're delighted for [Nicolo] Barella and [Alessandro] Bastoni. They and the rest of the Azzurri have shone a light on Italian football.”
