The group stage has come to an end, and the draw for the final phase of the Copa America is now known. Lautaro Martinez's Argentina, Vidal and Sanchez's Chile, and Vecino's Uruguay have qualified for the quarter-finals. Nerazzurri players played 726 minutes on the pitch in Group A of the competition that will end on 10 July, when the final of the 47th edition of this tournament will be played.
Lautaro Martinez's Argentina will play against Ecuador on Saturday 3 July at 22:00 CEST. The Albiceleste drew 1-1 in their opening match against Chile, recording their first win in the second outing against Uruguay and their second win against Paraguay, after which the Selección qualified for the quarter-finals. Lautaro Martinez played 159 minutes on the pitch and scored a goal in the final match, a 4-1 win against Bolivia.
A fixture against Brazil awaits Vidal and Sanchez's Chile, a match which will be played on Friday 2 July at 21:00 CEST at the Nilton Santos stadium in Río de Janeiro. La Roja, after their opening draw against Argentina, beat Bolivia 1-0, then drew against Uruguay and lost the last Group A match against Paraguay. Vidal played 314 minutes on the pitch, while Sanchez was not used.
Uruguay's journey began with a defeat to Argentina at the first hurdle. That was followed by a draw against Chile and two victories against Bolivia and Paraguay that allowed the Celeste to finish second in Group A with seven points, behind Argentina on ten. Matias Vecino played 253 minutes on the pitch, and his team will now take on Colombia in the quarter-finals on Saturday 3 July at 19:00 CEST.
