"You were teammate, but you were also my best mate for a long time. We were inseparable for two years."
25 years have gone by, but the feeling between Paul Ince and Massimo Paganin remains the same. Teammates, united by a strong bond of friendship, who met in front of the Inter TV cameras for a special episode of Team Talks in English: an emotional reunion, rich with stories and anecdotes, that takes us back to those two years between 1995 and 1997, in which these two starred in Black & Blue.
"Massimo was essential for me settling in at Inter. He helped me a lot; we were roommates."
Paul Ince spoke about those first few months of settling in and then his teammates, the arrival of Javier Zanetti, the rivalry with Juventus, training - all with that temperament that saw him win the hearts of Inter fans in very little time. And then there was a discussion of those most heated matches, those in which grit makes all the difference:
"I never called it the Derby di Milano, but 'Inter's Derby'. It's an incredible match. I played in the Manchester Derby and the Merseyside Derby, but the Derby di Milano was special. Massimo's goal against AC Milan is one of the greatest memories of my two years at Inter; I still have some amazing photos of our celebration."
The #DerbyMilan and one name above all, Nicola Berti, one of the surprises of the episode, as he regaled us with a story linked to the famous number 8. But there's more... in this episode of Team Talks, there's space for another legend, Roy Hodgson, to whom the football world is paying homage following the announcement of his retirement after 45 years in the dugout.
