MILAN – Sassuolo vs. Inter was the Nerazzurri’s final match of the 2015/16 season. In the 72nd minute of that game, Roberto Mancini brought off Carrizo and replaced him with Ionut Andrei Radu, who came on to make his professional debut at the age of 19. He’d been at Inter since 2013 after coming through the Club’s youth ranks.
There’s a strong bond between Radu and our colours. After spells at Avellino, Genoa and Parma, he returned to the Nerazzurri. And five years on from that debut, he entered the fray at the start of the second half of Inter vs. Sampdoria having just won the Scudetto with the Club. The joy he’s currently feeling was reflected in his words to Inter TV: “I have to say that this season hasn’t been bad at all. I’m really proud and have been waiting for this moment for a long time. I’m among champions here and am trying to learn from them so I can be like them.
“I feel like I’ve made great strides forward thanks to the work I’ve done with the staff and training alongside Handanovic and Padelli. On a psychological level, I’ve learnt to be more aggressive in many situations. I’ve always prepared to ensure that I’m ready. I’ve been at Inter for eight years, and it really is a great source of pride to win the Scudetto and be called upon to play.
“Last Sunday? I watched Atalanta’s match on TV with my girlfriend and celebrated when Consigli saved Muriel’s penalty. That was when the party began.”
