Skriniar: "I'm proud of this team"

MILAN - A match that was there to be won and one where substance counted more than style. Along with his teammates, Milan Skriniar was a key element in the Nerazzurri’s defensive wall and especially so in the final minutes of the 1-0 win against Verona.
The Slovakian spoke to Inter TV and DAZN after the match. “It was very important to win today and perhaps we didn’t play particularly well, but bringing the three points home was all that mattered after the two draws. The celebrations after Darmian’s goal show how we’re united as a group. Those who play less always help and give their all, I’m proud of this team and what we’re doing.
“Morale is high and obviously there’s only applause and happiness in the changing room after a tough win like that. We’re united as a group, tight-knit and we all attack and defend together.
“I've always had a good relationship with the Coach. Perhaps I needed a bit of time to get used to playing in a three-man defence, but I'm happy that I've found my feet in this regard and am able to help the team now. There are still more games to go and we need to keep going to achieve our objective.”
