Milan – On the occasion of Remembrance Day, today 27 January, as per tradition, Inter visited the Memorial of the Shoah in Milan to honour the memory of Árpád Weisz and the millions of victims of the Holocaust.
Due to the restrictions in place for the current pandemic situation, the Nerazzurri club could not visit the symbolic place of Memory with the boys and girls of the Youth Team as in past years, but still wanted to show their thoughts and their closeness with two exceptional ambassadors.
Vice President Javier Zanetti and First Team coach Antonio Conte went to the Memorial, representing the entire Inter family around the world, and brought a Nerazzurri shirt with the name Árpád Weisz and the number 18 as a gift, which in Hebrew has the same numerical value as the word 'Life', to remember the great footballer and coach of Hungarian origin.
Even if not present in person, Inter still wanted to involve youth in a day of remembrance and reflection on the theme of racial persecution: with the support of AMI, Minority shareholders of Inter, the boys and girls of the Youth Teams, the Training Centers, the Inter Grassroots Program, the Special team and the project "Io Tifo Positivo" they have in fact streamed a theatrical story entitled: "From the Football Pitch to Auschwitz, The Story of a Jewish coach and his family", written and interpreted by the actor Davide Giandrini.
