MILAN – During his career, Arturo Vidal has enjoyed many nights where he’s played a leading role. And this was also the case this evening. After his goal against Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia, the Chilean got on the scoresheet again, beating Danilo to the ball and rising high to open the scoring in Inter vs. Juventus. In doing so, he became the eighth player in history to have found the net for both sides in the Derby d’Italia, while it was also his first goal in Serie A in over five years. His headed finish contributed to a 2-0 Nerazzurri victory over the Bianconeri.
“I’m happy, because this is a very important win. We managed to beat a strong side that will fight for the Scudetto until the very end, just like we will. We’re in the mix, we have hunger, and we also have everything required to battle it out. We needed to make a leap in quality, and this is what you’re able to do in games like these. We played intelligently and are on the right path, one which involves work,” the Chilean said to Inter TV.
He continued: “I scored an important goal and am happy. Through this goal, which I’d like to dedicate to my children, my girlfriend, my family and our fans, I’m sending out the message that I’m alive and kicking. This is a win that will give us a confidence boost, let’s keep pushing forward!”
