MILAN - Romelu Lukaku scored his 50th goal in 70 appearances for the Nerazzurri today, as he netted Inter’s fourth against Crotone before leaving the pitch with a thigh injury.
However, he certainly played his part before the substitution. In addition to his goal, he also laid on the assist for Inter’s equaliser, while he was also involved in the build-up play for two others. Once again, it was a superb all-round performance for the Nerazzurri’s No.9.
This season, Lukaku has scored 16 goals in 19 appearances. He netted four from five matches during the Champions League group stage, while he's bagged twelve in 14 appearances in Serie A so far. In total, Lukaku has scored 35 goals in 50 Serie A fixtures, with his first coming against Lecce in 2019. Only five players have scored more goals in their first 50 matches in Italy’s top tier during the three-points-per-win era. They are: Cristiano Ronaldo (40), Ronaldo (38), Andriy Shevchenko (37), Diego Milito (37) and Vincenzo Montella (36).
Overall, Lukaku’s 50 goals from 70 appearances leave him with a goalscoring average of 0.71 per game, with the Belgian having also registered nine assists.
