MILAN – The European nights from the 2019/20 season viewed from a special, exclusive perspective. With Euro Nights, we bring you back to the heart of the action, as if you were practically on the pitch. And following Inter vs. Slavia Prague, today we’re bringing you our two matches against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League 2019/20.
Sweet and bitter. Elation and regret. The two Champions League games against Borussia Dortmund are made up of 135 minutes dominated by the Nerazzurri and then 45 minutes where the Germans did enough to win the second contest. Overall, a Nerazzurri victory at San Siro followed by a comeback win for the hosts in Dortmund.
Two exciting games full of emotion and great skill. Two important games which we’re bringing you from a new viewpoint: from the sidelines, which allows you to get into the heart of the match and see each moment in unique detail.
We start with Lautaro Martinez’s goal at San Siro: de Vrij’s ball allowing the striker to evade the German’s defence, control and finish past Burki. Our special insight allows us to grasp the authenticity of San Siro’s elation for the attacker, his teammates’ embraces and El Toro’s glance towards the opponents’ goalkeeper before walking back to the halfway line. Candreva’s goal to double the lead was an explosive finish, and we can watch his lung-busting run towards goal as well as the emphatic celebration: his shirt off, teammates surrounding him and the referee waiting with a yellow card.
In Dortmund it was a game of two halves: the first perfect, the second not so. Lautaro’s goal was a masterpiece and Vecino’s was the perfect play. With this perspective you can witness it all: the movements, the hugs and the tense faces of the home fans. That two-goal lead was then unfortunately overturned, leading to the German stadium’s eruption.
