All the stats following the Nerazzurri's 1-0 win against Napoli

With their victory over Napoli, Inter closed the gap at the top, moving to within one point of Milan. It was the Nerazzurri’s fifth consecutive league win, with the team’s thoughts now set to turn to their upcoming match against Spezia at San Siro.

THE LEAGUE TABLE

CONTE’S 50TH LEAGUE MATCH IN CHARGE OF INTER

He couldn’t have celebrated this important milestone in a better way. Antonio Conte has been in charge of Inter for 50 Serie A matches, winning 32, drawing 13 and losing five of those games. Conte is the third Nerazzurri Coach to win at least 32 of his opening 50 league matches in the Inter dugout, following on from Aldo Olivieri (34) and José Mourinho (34).

Inter managed to get the better of Napoli for the third successive Serie A match. Conte has thus become the second Inter Coach to win his first three matches against the Partenopei in the Italian top flight. Previously, only Alfredo Foni had achieved this between 1952 and 1953.

THE IRREPRESSIBLE LUKAKU STRIKES AGAIN

Romelu Lukaku scored another decisive goal last night, enough to secure a 1-0 win. He’s contributed 15 points to Inter’s tally this season, making him the player that has had the most decisive impact in Serie A so far.

Lukaku has found the net 14 times in all competitions this campaign and is now joint top of the Serie A goalscoring charts with ten, alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Belgian has thus reached double figures in the league for the ninth consecutive season in one of the Top 5 European divisions, with Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo having also done so.

Lukaku has scored in each of his first five Serie A appearances at San Siro this season: the last Inter player to achieve this feat was Christian Vieri in 2002/03.

The No.9 continues to be impeccable from twelve yards out: Lukaku has taken ten penalties in an Inter shirt and scored all ten.

A CLEAN SHEET AND GOALS IN THE FINAL HALF AN HOUR

Thanks in no small part to Samir Handanovic’s performance, Inter kept their first clean sheet of the season at home in Serie A. They hadn’t done so since their penultimate league match last season, which was also against Napoli in July. Inter managed to shut Napoli out for the fourth consecutive Serie A match on home turf yesterday. The last time this happened was in 1980.

Seven of Inter’s 18 matches in all competitions this season have been goalless at half-time. In Serie A, Inter are the team that have added the most points to their tally after the break: ten in fact. Furthermore, the Nerazzurri have scored 16 of their 30 goals in the final 30 minutes of play.
