— Dec 6th 2020Stats and facts after Inter's win at San Siro
Yesterday evening, Inter ran out 3-1 winners against Bologna on matchday ten in Serie A, with the Nerazzurri’s goals coming through Romelu Lukaku and Achraf Hakimi (brace). Conte’s men have now picked up three consecutive wins in the league, where they currently sit on 21 points. Inter have scored 26 goals from their first ten matches, their best haul at this stage since the 2009/10 campaign. Taking into account the Top 5 European leagues, only Bayern Munich (34) and PSG (31) have found the net on more occasions during the 2020/21 season.
LUKAKU, A GOAL MACHINE
Another goal for Romelu Lukaku, who managed to break the deadlock against the Rossoblù. So far this campaign, the Belgian has scored twelve goals in all competitions and eight in the league (in nine appearances). It’s the first time in his career that he’s scored more than seven goals in his first ten league games of the season. Lukaku has netted in each of his first four appearances at home this Serie A campaign, becoming only the second Inter player to achieve this feat in the Italian top flight since the three-points-per-win era began (the other is Christian Vieri, who found the net in each of his first five matches at San Siro in 2001/02 and 2002/03).
Since the start of 2020, only Robert Lewandowski (40), Cristiano Ronaldo (35) and Erling Haaland (33) have scored more goals than Romelu Lukaku (32) in all competitions. Taking to account the whole of last season and the first ten matchdays of this campaign, only Ciro Immobile (42) and Cristiano Ronaldo (39) have found the net on more occasions than the Belgian (31) in Serie A.
Out of the players who play in the Italian top flight, Lukaku (26) is the player who has bagged the most goals in all competitions in 2020 when penalties aren’t taken into account. The Nerazzurri No.9 has now scored 31 goals in Serie A, four of which have come against Bologna.
A BRACE FOR HAKIMI
Following his goal against Benevento, Achraf Hakimi netted his second and third goals for Inter against the Rossoblù. Hakimi is the only defender to have scored at least two goals and provided at least two assists during the current Serie A season. Furthermore, he’s the youngest defender to have bagged a brace in the Top 5 European leagues in 2020/21.
