MILAN – Thanks to the win over De Zerbi’s Sassuolo, Inter move to 18 points in the league after a solid and tenacious performance in Reggio Emilia. The game has also thrown up a few interesting stats.
INTER THE LEAGUE’S BEST ATTACK
The two best Serie A attacks came face to face at the Mapei Stadium. At kick-off, both sides had scored 20 goals in the league, and a 3-0 win moved Conte’s men clear of the Neroverdi to 23. For the first time since March 2018 (vs. Verona), Inter went two goals up inside 15 minutes, while Alexis Sanchez has scored in two consecutive league games for the first time since 2017 (with Arsenal).
NUMBERS AWAY FROM HOME
Following the win in Reggio Emilia, Inter are (along with AC Milan) one of just two teams not to have lost a single game away from home since the start of June (7W, 4D). It was the Neroverdi’s first defeat of the current Serie A campaign and Sassuolo had not lost by a margin of three goals or more since September 2019 (against Atalanta).
WHEN GAGLIARDINI SCORES...
Roberto Gagliardini’s goal wrapped up the game at the Mapei Stadium, capping off a great performance from the Inter midfielder. In fact, whenever he scores, Inter win. The Nerazzurri have won all eleven Serie A games, in which Roberto Gagliardini has scored
