Stats and trivia ahead of Atalanta vs. Inter

MILAN – Atalanta will be Inter’s next opponents on matchday seven in Serie A. Here are the facts and figures you need to know ahead of Sunday’s 15:00 CET kick-off at the Gewiss Stadium.

ATALANTA VS. INTER, PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS

Atalanta and Inter are set to face each other for the 119th time in Serie A. The Nerazzurri’s record against the team from Bergamo reads as follows: 63 wins, 31 draws and 24 defeats. Inter have scored 210 and conceded 112 goals during their encounters with La Dea. In four of their last six league matches against Inter, Atalanta haven’t found the net.

Bergamo has been a tough place to go for the Nerazzurri in recent times: before Inter’s win there last season, Atalanta had remained unbeaten in nine of their previous ten home matches against the Nerazzurri (W4, D5). Atalanta and Inter have faced each other 59 times in Bergamo: the hosts have won 15 of these fixtures, while there have been 21 draws and 23 away victories.

Inter come into the game on eleven points in the league, seven of which they’ve picked up away from home: the Nerazzurri have beaten Benevento and Genoa and drawn with Lazio on the road, scoring eight and conceding three in the process.

Gasperini’s team, meanwhile, sit on twelve points and are yet to draw in the league (W4, D2). They’ve played two games on home turf, emerging victorious against Cagliari and losing against Sampdoria. Atalanta have conceded in nine consecutive league fixtures: this is their longest run without keeping a clean sheet since August 2015.

Roberto Gagliardini made his first 14 Serie A appearances for Atalanta prior to his move to Inter in January 2017. The Italian midfielder made his 100th Nerazzurri appearance when Inter last came up against La Dea. Alessandro Bastoni also played his first seven Serie A matches when he was on Atalanta’s books, with these appearances coming in 2017 and 2018.
