Young: "The draw is disappointing but we're capable of winning in Madrid"

KYIV – Ashley Young made his return to the pitch today, with the Englishman having the following to say to Inter TV and Sky following the Nerazzurri’s goalless draw against Shakhtar Donetsk: “We controlled the match: they defended with all their men behind the ball, and, given how the match went, we’re disappointed that we were unable to pick up the three points.

“Ours is a difficult group, but it’s normal for things to be this way in the Champions League. We’re disappointed that we didn’t win, but we need to put aside our frustration and think positively: it’s a point that could prove important. We’re a good team and we’re capable of winning against Real Madrid if we play like we did tonight.

“I’m happy to have returned after a period in isolation,” he concluded. “We now need to recuperate quickly in order to be ready for Parma, then we’ll think about our game in Madrid.”
