GENOA - Danilo always steps up to the mark. In his sixth match of the season, he scored his second goal, sealing a 2-0 win for the Nerazzurri against Genoa. The Italian defender is the only Inter player to have scored at least two goals in each of the past six Serie A seasons.
After the match, he had the following to say to Sky Sport: “It wasn’t an easy game because things are never simple in Serie A. But so far no one has managed to dominate us and we’ve picked up less than we’ve deserved. Today, we dominated for the full 90 minutes, and we did well to not concede any goals and remain patient. These points are well deserved and what we need.
“A clean sheet? We know that we need to be solid in defence in order to enjoy a successful season. This is exactly what we were today, despite the attacking game we played.”
On Tuesday, Inter will face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League: “They have a lot of quality and are strong on both a physical and technical level. We need to approach the game like we did against them back in August. This is the only way we can do well.”
