MILAN – It’s been a Sunday full of international football, with various countries involved in UEFA Nations League action. In the late afternoon, four Nerazzurri players took to the pitch.
Lukaku, on the scoresheet but a defeat for Belgium
Romelu Lukaku’s Belgium fell to defeat against England on matchday three in the UEFA Nations League. The Nerazzurri forward, who played 90 minutes at Wembley, fired home from the penalty spot in the 16th minute to give his country an early lead. However, England managed to stage a comeback thanks to goals from Rashford (a penalty) and Mount, thus securing a 2-1 win.
Perisic and Brozovic: Croatia beat Sweden
Croatia came away with a victory in Group 3 of the UEFA Nations League: at the Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb, Dalić’s side ran out 2-1 winners against Sweden. Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic both started the match, with the former remaining on the pitch for the full 90 minutes and the latter being substituted with 85 minutes on the clock. Perisic’s performance was particularly noteworthy: the Nerazzurri winger helped bring about the first goal with a foray down the left wing and provided the assist for Croatia’s 84th-minute winner.
de Vrij plays for the Netherlands
Stefan de Vrij played 90 minutes in the heart of the Dutch defence as the Netherlands drew 0-0 against Bosnia in Zenica in Group 1 of the UEFA Nations League. The Dutch are set to take on Italy in the same competition on Wednesday 14 October.
