APPIANO GENTILE - Two days ahead of the game at the Olimpico against Lazio on matchday 3 of Serie A, Alexis Sanchez spoke to Sky Sport about how the team is currently looking and his own personal performance. “I think I’m on form. I play better when I feel good, in all senses, scoring goals and making assists. I’m happy, because I want to play and I’m happy for my teammates, because we’re doing well. I like what I do. I love my job. I’ve played my whole life and I’m happy to be feeling good now. When I came to Inter, I found a coach, who never lets you give up, who’s always there, and players that want to learn and win. We’re a family now, with everything we’re doing here; that’s the beautiful thing about the Club.”
On the comeback against Fiorentina on matchday 2: “Fiorentina was a really difficult game. We were losing 3-2 and then we came from behind. That grit and determination is what we need to see from Inter. We’ve only played two games, so it’s too early to say. We need to improve in every aspect, in our mindset, in how we kill off a game, in defence. We’re doing well but we can do more.”
On objectives for the season: “It’s too soon to be talking about the Scudetto. Now we just need to play, improve and be more determined. We mustn’t relax, but always be fired up to win every game, easy or difficult.”
Finally, on Vidal, Lautaro and Lukaku: “We all know about Vidal. I’ve known him for 15 years, we’ve played a lot together. He understands football really well and it’s hard to find a player like him nowadays. He knows when to give the ball, he has 360 º vision. Lautaro and Lukaku are powerful. They have different qualities, as all attackers do. They always want to score and that’s how it needs to be when you’re playing up top.”
