MILAN – Inter are getting ready to take to the field once more, as they face Inzaghi’s Benevento. After the win against Fiorentina, the Nerazzurri will play their rearranged matchday 1 fixture on Wednesday 30 September.
NUMBERS AND FIGURES
Inter have won each of their two Serie A fixtures against Benevento: 2-1 away in October 2017 with Brozovic’s brace and 2-0 at home in February 2018 with goals from Skriniar and Ranocchia. Benevento are one of the sides, against whom Inter have a 100% win record in Serie A - alongside Frosinone (4/4), Pistoiese (2/2) and Treviso (2/2). Inter have won their last two away games in the league without conceding a single goal; the Nerazzurri haven’t kept three consecutive clean sheets on the road in Serie A since September 2013. Thanks to the victory over Fiorentina, Inter could win both of the first two games for the second year running, which would be a first since 2002/03-2003/04.

FUN FACTS: COMEBACKS AND BRACES
Both Benevento and Inter won their first game of the season with a comeback in the space of 20 minutes. The Campania side were helped to a win thanks to two goals from ex-Inter man Caldirola. Talking about braces, the first game between the two sides was won by the Nerazzurri thanks to two Brozovic goals, and Lautaro Martinez bagged his first two-goal haul for the Club against Benevento in a Coppa Italia game in January 2019.
ANTONIO CONTE'S THOUGHTS
"We’re expecting a tough match in every respect. Last season, Benevento enjoyed a big season in Serie B and won the league with many games to spare. They have a coach who was my teammate for many years. I know him well, and I know what he can give to a team in terms of character too. It’ll be a tricky game: they’ve shown that they have character and are a real team, they deserved to win their last match and we’ll need to be very attentive.”. (read the full interview HERE ).
OUR OPPOSITION
Benevento came from behind to win their first game in this current Serie A campaign, beating Sampdoria thanks to a brace from former Inter player Luca Caldirola and one goal from Gaetano Letizia. Inzaghi’s side have scored three goals via defenders so far this season, more than any other team in the league, and are the only two have scored twice or more from corners. The Stregoni have only had three shots on target, less only that Napoli Lazio and Udinese (all with two).
THE REFEREE
Marco Piccinini will officiate the game at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito. Mondin and Mastrodonato will be his assistants, while Marinelli will act as 4th Official. Nsca will take on VAR duties, assisted by De Meo.

COACHES
This will be the first time FLippo Inzaghi and Antonio Conte have met as Serie A coaches. Conte has always won the first away game of a season as a coach - six from six in Serie A and the Premier League.
