D'Ambrosio: "We wanted to turn it around at all costs"

MILAN - It was a spectacular start to the 2020/21 Serie A season for the Nerazzurri, who beat Fiorentina 4-3 in a crazy match. “It’s always important to win, regardless of it being the first match,” said Danilo D’Ambrosio after scoring the winning goal. “We do everything to win without having to suffer so much, but the match today immediately got off to a bad start. However, we showed that we can fight and, thanks to the depth and strength of this squad, we turned it around by giving everything to get the win.

“I always look to give 100% when I go out on the pitch, and then I’m even happier if I score. Last year, we were a point behind Juventus, we reached the semi-final of the Coppa Italia and the Europa League final, and the aim this year is to do even better as part of the journey that we’re on.”
