MILAN – There’s not long left until the Nerazzurri’s first competitive match of the 2020/21 season. Inter’s first opponents will be Iachini’s Fiorentina, who come into the game on the back of a win against Torino. These are all the facts and figures that you need to know ahead of the match, which will kick off at 20:45 CEST on Saturday 26 September at San Siro.
Inter and Fiorentina are set to face each other two months on from their last encounter, which finished in a goalless draw on 22 July 2020. Last season, the two teams played each other three times (two draws in the league and a win for the Nerazzurri in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals).

A threat up front and organised in defence. Taking account the Top 5 European leagues, Inter are the team that scored the most headed goals (26) in all competitions in 2019/20. Furthermore, the Nerazzurri had 18 different goalscorers in the league last term, more than any other side. While Inter finished the Serie A season with the best defence last year, the Viola were also very solid in the post-lockdown period. PLAYER FOCUS
When it comes to the first fixture of the season, Romelu Lukaku has scored three goals in the last three years in the Premier League and then Serie A.
