An interview with the Nerazzurri midfielder, with the start of the season approaching

APPIANO GENTILE - Competitive action is about to begin for the Nerazzurri with their match against Fiorentina, scheduled for Saturday at 20:45 CEST at San Siro. Stefano Sensi gave his thoughts on the Nerazzurri's pre-season and ambitions for the future in an interview with Sky Sport: "Last year, I had some injuries that got in my way, but that's never something you can prepare for: it's just part of the game. Last season I've grown a lot, I've been working on getting myself into the best condition I can, but also on preventing more injuries. I hope it will be a good year."

Last year, Sensi made a blistering start to the season: "I remember that period very fondly: I got off to a really good start: looking back on that start is definitely an incentive to get back to work, so I can get back to that level."

Arturo Vidal's arrival gives the Nerazzurri even more depth in the middle of the park: "It's only natural that there will be competition, that's something you seen in every team. Having quality players in the squad helps you to improve, and they give you a hand with everything. What's more, the ability to covering a number of roles is a real bonus."

When asked about a slogan for the upcoming season, Sensi only had one word in mind: "I would definitely say 'ambition': Inter always need to aim high. We've made some mistakes, but we've had time to reflect on them, and if we put in the work to improve, we could achieve great things. You've got to do your talking on the pitch, and we've got to work on getting ourselves to where we need to be, and take it game by game. Like I said, it's all about ambition: it's what drives you to improve, helps you avoid making mistakes, and put in big performances."
