MILAN – Inter returned to the San Siro pitch today, where they defeated Pisa 7-0 in a friendly match played in front of 1000 spectators. For the Nerazzurri, it was another step towards the upcoming league season, which will begin on Saturday 26 September against Fiorentina.
After playing for 90 minutes and scoring Inter’s second with a great right-footed effort from the edge of the area, Roberto Gagliardini commented on the match in an interview with Inter TV: “There have been positive signs during our pre-season outings, and we should be happy about this. They have been important with next Saturday’s fixture in mind. In matches like this, it’s important to build up some positivity. We should be looking to take advantage of our fitness levels from last season to start well in the league.”
“Even if only 1000 fans were in the stadium, it was a fantastic feeling to see them: having them so close to us is great. Our league campaign will begin next Saturday, and we’ll be coming up against Fiorentina. It’ll be tough, we know how they play. It’ll also be an important match right from the get-go. We’ve got an excellent group: Hakimi and Kolarov have settled in right away, while the others were already used to the environment here.”
