MILAN – 55 goals scored and an ever-growing understanding over the course of the 2019/20 season. Taking into account all competitions, the Lukaku-Lautaro pairing was the second most prolific in the Top 5 European leagues, with only Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry (78) doing better.

With 34 goals to his name, the Belgian striker matched Ronaldo’s debut-season goalscoring tally in 1997/98 and went into the record books, including for equalling the highest number of goals scored by an Inter player during a single European season (nine, level with Roberto Boninsegna in 1969/70 and Hernan Crespo in 2002/03).

As for the Argentine, he also made a significant contribution to the Nerazzurri’s 113-goal haul during the 2019/20 campaign. The front duo were also at the top of the appearance ranking (51 matches for the Belgian, 49 for El Toro).
