COLOGNE - With just over 24 hours left until kick-off for Sevilla vs. Inter, our Nerazzurri captain Samir Handanovic answered questions from the media in the pre-match press conference at the Stadion Köln in Germany.
You’re one of Inter’s longest-serving players and you’re captaining a side who are now in a final. How does that make you feel?“After a while we’ve come to fight for something important, but this must only be a starting point, these kinds of matches have to become a habit, just like they’ve been in the past. Today we can say that we’ve got to the point of playing for something important, not just tomorrow night. I’m proud to be here today, but I’ve always been working hard to compete for and to win trophies since the day I arrived.”
How have the team’s spirits been these past few weeks and how have you managed to form such a solid group?“We’re good together as a group, then the wins are something else. It’s winning that brings you confidence, courage and awareness, it helps you to correct the smallest of mistakes and that’s how we’ve improved. The team has a desire to improve, to make sacrifices and to win games. This group has been strong, solid and compact since the start of the year.”
