BERGAMO - Non-stop running, defensive work, build-up play and so much self-sacrifice. Once again, this time on the final matchday of the Serie A season, Nicolò Barella gave every last ounce of energy to help Inter to success over Atalanta and to second place in the league. After the game, speaking to DAZN, Barella had the following to say: “The Coach has instilled in us a winning mentality, so it hurts to have finished second despite it being a big achievement. This was a big game against a team who have had an incredible season. Atalanta have real quality, they can score goals and open the game back up at any point. But today we managed the game in the best way possible: that’s what the Coach wants.”
“It was a great team performance, we prepared for the match well and we were rewarded with the three points in a well-deserved victory. It’s not my job to be making any judgements on our performances this season, but I think we’ve done well and the boss has brought us a winning mentality. I’m happy with my performances too, I’ve given it my all and I’m happy with that. As a team, we’ve shown that we can take the game to anyone. Of course there are bound to be mistakes in the first year under a new Coach, but we’re Inter and we’ve got to get used to winning.”
