Bastoni: “An important win, both for the table and our morale”

MILAN - Yesterday’s clash with Torino marked Alessandro Bastoni’s 24th appearance of the season as the Nerazzurri came back from a goal down to overcome the Granata. Bastoni spoke to Sky Sport about the Nerazzurri’s current form, with fans able to watch the full interview on Inter TV at 19:30 CEST tonight.

“Last night’s win over Torino was a very important victory. We were coming off the back of two games where we’d put in the performance but didn’t bring home the three points. It’s an important win for our morale, it’s good for us. Now the goal is to take things game by game, looking to win them all.”

Six big games to finish the campaign right around the corner: “We’re in second place, if we hadn’t dropped points along the way maybe we’d be closer to other positions. But this is the first year of work for this group, ours is a process of growth. It’s a journey that we have to undergo together, aiming to achieve great things, but we’ve got time. Conte has given me so much. I don’t know many people who would throw a 20-year-old boy who arrived on his tiptoes into the First Team.”

A word on Thursday’s game against SPAL: “Petagna’s my old teammate, he took me under his wing in the past and he’s a great guy. But I won’t hold back on the pitch.”

Finally a look at his future with Italy: “It’s a goal and a dream at the same time: I’m playing my football in the Under-21s, and whether I’m playing for one of the youth teams or the senior team I’ll always give my all.”
