Inter stats - The last eleven Nerazzurri goals have been scored by eleven different players

MILANO - In the last three matches, Inter have scored eleven times – a figure that’s impressive in itself. But more importantly, those goals were scored by eleven different players. That is, enough to fill out an entire starting eleven. Admittedly, the goalkeeper isn’t included, but this remarkable stat speaks for itself. For Conte's Inter, this is a team effort.

It’s a well-known fact that Conte’s side have a natural propensity for mass mobilisation in attack. Before the lockdown break, we took a look back at the first part of the season, when 18 different players found the net for the Nerazzurri in all competitions. Even in Serie A alone, 17 got on the scoresheet. Though Inter haven't yet added to this figure since the restart, the team effort has been enriched by an incredible scoring streak in Inter's last three games, with contributions by a wide range of players.

Lukaku, Biraghi and Borja Valero all scored against Sassuolo, while against Parma, de Vrij and Bastoni found the mark. And most recently, against Brescia, Young, Sanchez, D’Ambrosio, Gagliardini, Eriksen and Candreva scored in the 6-0 win at San Siro.

Eleven goals, eleven goalscorers. In our extraordinary win against Brescia, six goals were scored by six different scorers, a feat that hadn't been accomplished by Inter since the match against Reggina in 2003, when Cannavaro, Martins, Van der Meyde, Farinos, Cruz, and Vieri all got on the scoresheet. Underlining the sense of unity and the threat posed by the Nerazzurri is the fact that Inter have scored four goals or more in five different matches this season, and only Atalanta have done better, doing so in seven games.

Lukaku (Goal vs. Sassuolo) – The Belgian now has 19 goals in Serie A under his belt: it’s his second most successful season in any of the Top Five European leagues (after his 25 goals with Everton in 2016-17)

Biraghi (Goal vs. Sassuolo) – Biraghi scored his second goal for Inter when we hosted Sassuolo, after getting off the mark in the Europa League Round of 32 tie at Ludogorets. This was the left-back’s first goal in Serie A for the Nerazzurri after he hadn’t scored in the top flight of Italian football since September 2018 with Fiorentina.

Borja Valero (Goal vs. Sassuolo) – Borja Valero’s fourth Serie A goal for Inter and his first at San Siro.

de Vrij (Goal vs. Parma) – A defender with a tendency to find the target. Stefan de Vrij is one of the most complete defenders in the league: he scores, he makes sure that the opposition don’t get a look in, and he provides assists for his teammates as well. The Dutchman has actively participated in six goals this season: three goals (against Torino, AC Milan and Parma), and three assists.

Bastoni (Goal vs. Parma) – This was Bastoni’s second goal since joining the Nerazzurri, and it had just as much energy to it as the first did, and much like with his goal against Lecce, he came off the bench and found the mark with a header. However, this time, it was also the winner. Until the match against Parma, Bastoni was the only Inter player to find the net after coming on from the bench. But when the Nerazzurri played host to Brescia, Eriksen and Candreva followed suit.

Young (Goal vs. Brescia) – Against Brescia, the English wideman opened the scoring with a delightful volley, before assisting D'Ambrosio for Inter's third. Young’s first goal for Inter came in a similar fashion at the Stadio Olimpico against Lazio.

Sanchez (Goal vs. Brescia) – Prior to the encounter with Brescia, Sanchez had only scored once, against Sampdoria in September, before suffering a lengthy injury. But now, Alexis is back with a bang, providing two assists against the Lombard team and scoring from the spot for Inter’s second. Inter have scored all nine of their penalties this season. Remarkably, they have done so with four different scorers: Lukaku, Lautaro, Esposito and now Sanchez.

D’Ambrosio (Goal vs. Brescia) – D’Ambrosio is becoming accustomed to finding the net for the Nerazzurri. The goal he scored against Brescia resembles in many respects the one he scored against Lazio earlier this season, having come off the bench and scored with a header. Along with Leonardo Bonucci, D’Ambrosio is the only defender to have scored at least twice in each of the last five Serie A seasons.

Gagliardini (Goal vs. Brescia) – Gagliardini made amends for his mistake against Sassuolo, finding the net with a powerful header against Brescia. His scoring record has been particularly impressive, and he has hit the mark eight times since the start of last season. No Inter midfielder has scored more goals than him over the same period.

Eriksen (Goal vs. Brescia) – Eriksen only came off the bench late in the second half, but it wasn’t long before he snatched a goal. This was the Dane’s third goal for Inter, his first in Serie A after those he scored in the Europa League and the Coppa Italia.

Candreva (Goal vs. Brescia) – Against Brescia, Eriksen wasn’t the only player to find the net after coming off the bench. Soon after coming on, Candreva first rattled the crossbar with his right and then found the net with his left.
