MILAN – Sampdoria will be the first team that Inter will face as their 2019/20 league season resumes on Sunday 21 June at 21:45 CEST at San Siro. The match against Claudio Ranieri’s Blucerchiati is valid for matchday 25 of Serie A.
THE NUMBERS
The Nerazzurri take on Sunday’s challenge with a current total of 54 points, gained thanks to 16 wins, six draws and three defeats, in which Antonio Conte’s team has scored 49 goals. This tally has been achieved with the highest number of different goal scorers in Serie A (15), while 24 of those goals have been scored by new signings (at least five more than any other team).
FACT: 4x4
Inter kicked off their league campaign with a 4-0 win against Lecce thanks to goals by Brozovic, Sensi, Lukaku and Candreva. In fact, the Nerazzurri have scored four goals in four different Serie A matches this season having done so against Sassuolo, Genoa and AC Milan in addition to that matchday 1 win over Lecce.
THE OPPONENTS
Claudio Ranieri’s Sampdoria come to San Siro with a total of 26 points in the league, resulting from seven wins, five draws and 13 defeat. In their last away game, the Blucerchiati earned three points after beating Torino thanks to Ramirez’s brace and Quagliarella’s strike, who has been their top scorer so far with nine goals, followed by Gabbiadini (six) and Ramirez (five).
5 SUBSTITUTIONS
The FIGC have announced the exception that teams will be able to make five substitutions during a match (an exception that’s valid for all remaining matches across all competitions until the end of the 2019/20 season). The five substitutions may be made using a maximum of three breaks in the match, in addition to the usual half time interval. In the event that both sides make a change at the same time, this will be considered an interruption of the game by both teams.
