MILAN – He was a Nerazzurri player for three seasons, from 1992 to ’95, and the ex-Montevideo attacker ended his time at Inter with one of the highest average goals per game ratios in Nerazzurri history having scored 50 goals in 104 appearances.

While at Inter, he won both the UEFA Cup in 1993/94 as well as the fans’ admiration thanks to great performances and exceptional goals:
“With today’s balls I could have scored 40 a season. I loved to shoot from distance and for me a free kick was like a penalty. I learned to shoot like that, from range, when I was about fourteen and we trained to hit the crossbar from halfway. I’d say to myself: aim at the ‘keeper and the ball will curve…and the goalkeeper could never save it. Striking the ball well is a natural skill, but you have to train it every day until your foot hurts. You can never be afraid to shoot, the worst that can happen is it’ll go into the crowd, nobody will die from it…”
