MILAN – The third edition of our ‘Guess Who’ quiz was launched on our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) today, with the aim being to guess a Nerazzurri starting line-up from emojis representing eleven different players from Inter’s history.
Here are all the answers:
GOALKEEPER:
1 – ALBERTO FONTANA
He spent four seasons at Inter from 2001 to 2005, making 24 appearances and winning the 2004/05 Coppa Italia in the process.
DEFENDERS:
2 – MAICON
‘The Colossus’, Douglas Sisenando Maicon: 249 games in the Nerazzurri shirt, 20 goals scored. He was the perfect mix of class and power.
3 – SAINSBURY
Trent Lucas Sainsbury, who spent the 2016/17 season at Inter, was the first Australian to play for the Club
4 – BERGOMI
Bergomi wore the Inter shirt for the first time on 30 January 1980 at the age of 16 years and one month. And from that day, he never took it off: he played 758 Inter matches, scoring a total of 28 goals.
5 – GIOVANNI PASQUALE
After coming through Inter’s youth ranks, Pasquale was involved with the first team from 2002 to 2005, turning out on 57 occasions.
MIDFIELDERS
6 – FIGO
‘El paso doble’, otherwise known as Luis Figo, spent four unforgettable seasons with the Nerazzurri from 2005 to 2009 after having proven to be among the world’s best while playing for Barcelona, Real Madrid and the Portugal National Team.
7 – FELIPE MELO
Felipe Melo de Carvalho, who wore the Inter shirt in 2015/16 and 2016/17, played 38 times for the Club.
8 – DAVIDS
Edgar Davids spent the 2004/05 season at Inter, making 23 appearances in the process.
9 – MARIO CORSO
He was known as ‘God’s left foot’ and, wearing the number 11 on his back, was one of the icons of Helenio Herrera’s Grande Inter side. He scored 94 goals in 502 Inter matches, winning four Scudetto titles, two European Cups and two Intercontinental Cups in the process.
FORWARDS:
10 – MUTU
Adrian Mutu played 14 times and scored twice for Inter, with both goals coming in the Coppa Italia in the first few months of the new millennium.
11 – ZAMORANO
Completing our ‘Guess Who’ team is Ivan ‘Bam Bam’ Zamorano, who joined the Club from Real Madrid in the summer of 1996. He spent five seasons at Inter and became an idol for all Nerazzurri fans thanks to his performances and temperament. His 1+8 shirt will never be forgotten.
