MILAN - Inter pay their respects to all of the victims of the Holocaust: all of the men, women and children who lost their lives in the atrocities carried out by the Nazis. Arpad Weisz was one of these men, an iconic coach in the ‘30s, born in Solt on 16 April 1896, a pioneer of his time, a tactical maestro and a man who simply loved the game. In his time as Inter’s Head Coach, Weisz really brought out the best in Giuseppe Meazza, who finished as top scorer as Inter won their first Scudetto in the round-robin format in the ‘29/30 season.
Inter honours the memory of Arpad Weisz, who was forced to flee due to racial laws before being captured and sent with his family on the fatal journey to Auschwitz, along with all of the other people who lost their lives in the Shoah.
