To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Inter are kicking off 2020 with numerous initiatives to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Rat.
The Hero Video was launched today on the Nerazzurri’s Chinese and global social media channels. Samir Handanovic was the star man in the video, who himself was born in the first year of Chinese Zodiac calendar. The video plays with the nicknames that Chinese fans have given the Nerazzurri players and shows Handanovic, Berni, D’Ambrosio, Lukaku, Brozovic, Vecino and Inter Coach Antonio Conte all exchanging gifts. The gifts are linked to the nicknames given to them by supporters from Chine, at whom the video is directed. It demonstrates the growing appeal of the Nerazzurri Club in the oriental market.
Starting from today, the Home Shirt celebrating the Lunar New Year will be on sale at https://store.inter.it/en. In addition to the fact the players' names will be written in Chinese characters, the shirts will be made even more unique thanks to their numbers. For the first time, they will have a pattern bearing the traditional “FU” 福 character, a typical message of good luck, done in different styles of Chinese calligraphy. The shirt will be worn by the Nerazzurri players on Sunday 26 January when Inter take on Cagliari.
Furthermore, a T-shirt bearing a logo dedicated to the Year of the Rat and traditional oriental style stamp with the word “Inter” written in Chinese in the middle has also been created. Nerazzurri fans will be able to use a new Instagram filter which has been created ad hoc through graphics and key visual creations used on Inter’s channels.
Finally, in preparation for the 12:30 CET kick-off at San Siro on 16 January, Nerazzurri fans present at the match will be able to attend a brand-new DragonShow, a typical traditional Chinese show that embodies a real and very ceremonial good luck charm. To mark the occasion, the lions will be performing in a Nerazzurri fashion. Two excellent formations from Europe will be involved in the show: Asd Taishan and Asd Dragoni del Sud.
