17 - INTER XMAS ADVENT CALENDAR: EVARISTO BECCALOSSI

A supreme left foot, fancy footwork and dribbling skills, the number 10 on his back, a great head of hair. Describing Evaristo Beccalossi on a football pitch is easy, it’s a flashback that springs to mind instantly. He continually delighted the Nerazzurri fans, making them fall in love with him.

He spent six seasons at the Club, during which he scored memorable goals and made his mark in the #DerbyMilano. His brace against Milan in the 1979/80 season is particularly well remembered, with the Nerazzurri going on to win the Scudetto title that season.  “Sorry if I insist, I’m called Evaristo” is the phrase that has frequently been attributed to him, one which defines him: a stubborn playmaker. From humble beginnings to the Nerazzurri: he wore the number 10 shirt, won the Scudetto and left an indelible mark on the Club’s history. A young Evaristo had dreams and went on to fulfil them by doing what he was good at: insisting.
