PRAGUE – In addition to Antonio Conte, Stefan de Vrij also spoke to the press on the eve of Inter’s UEFA Champions League clash against Slavia Prague. This is what the Dutch defender had to say: “I can’t say at this point that I’m enjoying my best season, there’s still a long way to go. I feel good, but there are still a lot of matches to play. I don’t want to look back but forward instead, always thinking about the next game. The fixtures we’ve played are now in the past.
“Slavia are a side that we didn’t know much about: they play in a different way, they’re more of a physical and tough team. In addition, they do a lot of running. All of this was in evidence in the first match, one which was very difficult. We didn’t do well against them in September, but I think that we’ve improved a lot since then and we’re well-prepared for tomorrow’s game.
“We kept a clean sheet against Dortmund. When you play in the Champions League you face the best sides in Europe, all of whom have good strikers. Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Slavia Prague: they’re all teams who know how to win games. It’s difficult to beat Slavia: they have their own way of playing with many attackers, it’s never easy to face them. We’ll try not to concede and know that we can still improve a lot. We train every day to develop.”
