Lautaro: “I’m working to become great with Inter”

MILAN – He is on fire and defences are finding him too hot to handle. Even though Burki saved his penalty, Lautaro had yet another fine game, this time against Borussia Dortmund. He has been setting the bar high with his recent performances. Tonight’s strike was his fifth goal in his last four games and his second consecutive goal in the Champions League after he netted against Barcelona: the Argentine forward, aged 22 years and 62 days, is the youngest Inter player to score in two games in a row in the Champions League since Obafembi Martins (20 years and 118 days) scored in February 2005 against Porto.

 ‘El Toro’ spoke to Inter TV after the match and expressed his emotions in that moment: “This is what I’m working for. I need to recover quickly after every game and I want to become great with Inter. Out on the pitch I do what the Coach asks of me, I’m always trying to improve my chemistry with my teammates.”

“We didn’t deserve to lose against Barcelona and tonight we deserved this victory. We got back on track and now we need to go back to focusing on the league because in no time at all it will be Saturday and the match against Parma. We are working to improve ourselves every single day. On a physical level, we need to do a good job for the Coach but we are doing just that. Confidence is a crucial factor for good matches, even those who come off the bench know what they have to do and they do it well.”
